I bought this book based on the cover and synopsis having never read this author. The characters were so unlikeable it was a struggle to finish the story. The hero and heroine never show any caring toward the murdered mother of this child - she's barely mentioned and it was very disturbing that the author uses brutality as a passing plot device. The murder is not integral to the story, there is no mystery and no menace. The child was a victim of the attack and is virtually unaffected - this despite the fact that the hero (and father) is a doctor... does this child have no stitches that need follow up care??? The heroine (and aunt) is a ridiculously selfish and thoughtless woman - why is she any more entitled to physical custody of the child when she's just as much a stranger as the hero? The heroine has no problem returning to the murder scene repeatedly; even when we're supposed to believe that the murder is unresolved. There is no valid reason for this couple not to be together - there's not even an old fashioned misunderstanding. There was one well written exchange between the brothers but not much else of interest between the secondary characters. I can't understand all the positive reviews for this story and won't be purchasing any of the other titles in this series.

Received book #2 as a goodreads giveaway and after a chapter I had to jump on and grab this one.
Kian Forbes is a successful doctor that gets a surprise of a lifetime when one a pregnant women and toddler is brought into the ER with stab wounds. On her deathbed the woman confesses the toddler is his.

If that isn't exciting enough drama and sadness to begin a story then here's another kicker. The 
toddler Lily's, aunt is the only woman hes ever loved and the very woman that skipped town and disappeared four years ago.

Roxie has been called back to learn of her sisters death and take up the reigns of raising her niece. Never knowing Lily's father until Kian tells her her sister confessed it to him before she died. 
Two people who love each other but try to deal with the issues of the past all on top of learning how to parent was an exciting read.

A couple times I wanted to smack Roxie but hey I understand everyone deals and relies things at their own pace. Kian after first was a jerk but man did that man have patience and ummm sex appeal.

I did have a couple issues though. I commend the author for beginning a story the way she did with an injured pregnant woman and child and even the heart-breaking loss. However after that scene the unborn baby is only mentioned one more time during the reading of the will. Not even during the funeral for the sister (I forgot her name sorry). 
Other than that I loved the story and can't wait for find out what's in story for the teacher Arden.
I'm a sucker for second chance all consuming romances. Kian is defiantly an amazing all consuming second chance. Fate works in mysterious ways or rather meddling ways when you have Joseph and Sherman in the mix. Kian has loved Roxie for so long and it's touching how he handles her return into his life. Roxie where do I even start with her. Yes she is somewhat a mess and you do get the understanding of why. Roxie is afraid of loosing herself. I'm sure there are many out there me including that can relate with that. It sad that a tragedy brought them back together. But you know what I think all that made Kian and Roxie stronger in the end. I love love Kian by Melody Anne. I'm having trouble with picking my favorite book of hers because they all have touched me in so many ways. Kian was no different. The pull between Kian and Roxie is undeniable. The love Kian shows for Lily is beautiful. Kian is such an amazing start to Melody Anne's Undercover Billionaire series. I really can't wait to see the rest of the Forbes men fall. This book will grip your heart and not let go.

He must also come to terms of dealing with her aunt, Roxie Gilbert, his former love. Roxie ran away from Kian 4 years ago, unable to deal with her overwhelming feelings for Kian. Now, Roxie must learn to deal with her feelings for Kian which never went away and learning to be a mom to Lily. Slowly, Roxie comes to realize that her future is with her niece, Lily and Kian. Lily is such a sweet 3 yr old who just want to squeeze with love because of what she has been through. Both, Kian and Roxie find themselves transforming to become the family they were always destined to be. I have read many many books by Melody Anne and have loved them all Billionaire Bachelors, Baby for the Billionaire, and Billionaire Aviators. Amazing how Ms. Anne can intertwine beloved characters from one series to the next. Joseph Anderson(Billionaire Bachelors) and Sherman Armstrong(Billionaire Aviators) make an appearance in this series as they teach/help Lucian(Kian’s dad) to meddle in his kids lives in the pursuit of grandchildren.
